Overview
The Maintenance Mechanic will install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s mechanical/electrical equipment at TAS, a Houston-headquartered company known for delivering innovative packaged modular systems.
Responsibilities
- Install and maintain production machines and electrical equipment.
- Plan, layout, install and repair complex electrical equipment.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and test adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on various machines and facilities.
- Conduct plumbing maintenance, mechanical, and carpentry functions.
- Use hand and power tools, electric meters, and materials handling equipment.
- Build and wire electrical circuits for industrial applications.
- Detect faulty operations and report unusual situations.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean work areas.
- Inspect and assess the functionality of production machines.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical breakdowns.
- Remove and replace parts for repairs or upgrades.
- Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks.
- Communicate with maintenance supervisor and production team.
- Prepare and submit maintenance reports using CMM software.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- High School or Technical School education.
- Two years of Maintenance Mechanic experience.
- Electrical troubleshooting and mechanical experience required.
- Good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work up to 12 hours a day when required.
- Proactive in planning tasks to reduce production downtime.
- Ability to learn new skills, machines, and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to read basic mechanical and electrical prints.
- Knowledge of advanced trades & mathematics with CAD drawings.
- Ability to use test and measurement tools.
- Experience with lock-out tag-out, HAZMAT, and forklift safety.
Additional Information
- Work performed in a shop environment.
- Requires normal vision and absence of color blindness.
- Physical effort equal to frequent moving of up to 50lbs materials.
- Ability to stand up to 10 hours a day and up to 6 days a week.
- Steel-toe boots required in Manufacturing Facility.
