Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic will install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s mechanical/electrical equipment at TAS, a Houston-headquartered company known for delivering innovative packaged modular systems.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain production machines and electrical equipment.
  • Plan, layout, install and repair complex electrical equipment.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and test adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on various machines and facilities.
  • Conduct plumbing maintenance, mechanical, and carpentry functions.
  • Use hand and power tools, electric meters, and materials handling equipment.
  • Build and wire electrical circuits for industrial applications.
  • Detect faulty operations and report unusual situations.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean work areas.
  • Inspect and assess the functionality of production machines.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical breakdowns.
  • Remove and replace parts for repairs or upgrades.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks.
  • Communicate with maintenance supervisor and production team.
  • Prepare and submit maintenance reports using CMM software.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School or Technical School education.
  • Two years of Maintenance Mechanic experience.
  • Electrical troubleshooting and mechanical experience required.
  • Good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work up to 12 hours a day when required.
  • Proactive in planning tasks to reduce production downtime.
  • Ability to learn new skills, machines, and maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to read basic mechanical and electrical prints.
  • Knowledge of advanced trades & mathematics with CAD drawings.
  • Ability to use test and measurement tools.
  • Experience with lock-out tag-out, HAZMAT, and forklift safety.

Additional Information

  • Work performed in a shop environment.
  • Requires normal vision and absence of color blindness.
  • Physical effort equal to frequent moving of up to 50lbs materials.
  • Ability to stand up to 10 hours a day and up to 6 days a week.
  • Steel-toe boots required in Manufacturing Facility.
