Overview

The Maintenance Technician III at FedEx is responsible for supporting industrial maintenance of material handling systems, focusing on preventative and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. The role requires proficiency in mechanical power transmission, electrical systems, PLC/controls, and welding/fabrication.

Responsibilities

  • Provide preventative and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of material handling systems.
  • Adhere to safety standards and promote a safe work environment.
  • Interpret electrical or mechanical schematics and engineering specifications.
  • Respond to sort calls to diagnose problems and make repairs.
  • Utilize Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software to manage data.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and PLC/controls failures.
  • Assist lower-level technicians and develop scopes of work for small projects.
  • Work a flexible schedule as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certificates in Industrial Maintenance/Mechatronics or related area preferred.
  • Four years of experience in Industrial Maintenance.
  • Proficiency in mechanical power transmission, electrical systems, and PLC/controls.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow procedures and collaborate with teams.
