Overview
As a Pipefitter III, you'll operate as a journeyman-level expert in commercial mechanical service and installation, independently handling complex piping tasks for wet-side HVAC systems. Modigent is a national leader delivering next-generation infrastructure, technology, and energy solutions through specialized brands in HVAC, plumbing, and controls systems.
Responsibilities
- Independently plan, layout, fabricate, install, repair, and maintain complex piping systems and related equipment per blueprints, specifications, and codes.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, pressure testing, leak detection, system balancing, flushing, and repairs on various systems.
- Weld, braze, thread, cut, groove, and assemble piping materials to precise standards with minimal supervision.
- Lead service/repair/installation calls, assess on-site issues, communicate with customers, coordinate parts/materials, execute work, and follow up for satisfaction.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, specifications, and as-builts to resolve field conflicts.
- Provide daily guidance, coaching, and technical direction to junior Pipefitters.
- Document work thoroughly and maintain accurate records for billing, warranty, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Enforce and promote the highest safety standards through daily hazard assessments and strict adherence to OSHA requirements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive hands-on commercial/industrial piping installation, repair, and maintenance experience.
- High school diploma or GED required; trade school or apprenticeship completion preferred.
- Valid journeyman pipefitter/plumber license strongly preferred; welding/brazing certification a plus.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
- OSHA 30-hour certification encouraged.
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces or at heights.
- Mastery-level pipefitting techniques and advanced blueprint/schematic reading skills.
- Effective communication with crews, customers, management, and inspectors.

Additional Information
- Primarily field-based in commercial/industrial settings with exposure to various hazards.
- Occasional regional travel within assigned market or on-call rotations may be required.
