Overview
The Central Arizona Project (CAP) is seeking a highly-skilled Heavy Overhaul Mechanic to maintain large industrial mechanical systems across a 336-mile water supply network in Arizona. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, repair, and overhaul of heavy industrial mechanical equipment to ensure efficient water delivery to over 6 million people.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical duties associated with preventive maintenance, repair, and overhaul of heavy industrial mechanical equipment.
- Ensure equipment is safe, mechanically sound, and operating efficiently.
- Travel frequently in-state from Monday to Thursday to various CAP facilities.
Requirements
- A driver's license with a good driving record.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three or more years of related journeyman-level experience.
- Completion of a related state-approved apprenticeship is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of hydro-electric generating and pumping systems, hydraulic systems and controls.
- Ability to troubleshoot and use tools for precision measuring and testing.
- Knowledge of industrial safety requirements including hazardous energy control protocols.

- Work schedule: 4-10 (Mon-Thur).
