Overview
The 2nd Shift Assembly Solder Technician III position at RTX involves assembling and repairing electronic units using prescribed techniques. RTX is a leading aerospace and defense company that offers a comprehensive portfolio and deep technical expertise to meet global market demands.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and repair a variety of electronic units using prescribed repair techniques.
- Identify correct parts, components, wires, and materials needed for assembly and repair.
- Solder electronic components using industry-standard techniques and tools.
- Remove suspect and failed components and install new components accurately.
- Operate assembly machines and ensure proper functioning.
- Measure, mix, and apply chemicals and adhesives according to safety and operational guidelines.
- Read and interpret technical data including component maintenance manuals, assembly instructions, and engineering prints.
- Communicate work status to team members and support staff, ensuring seamless workflow.
- Document clear and concisely and maintain accurate records.
- Utilize computer skills and office software applications.
Requirements
- Typically requires a HS Diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience or 4 years of relevant experience in the absence of a HS Diploma or GED.
- Certification of IPC Class III Solder Exam is preferred.
- Experience with electronic assembly is preferred.
- Experience in the aerospace industry is preferred.

Additional Information
- 2nd Shift: Monday – Friday, 2:30 - 10:30 pm
- Training Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm for ~60 days.
- Occasional weekend and holiday support may be required.
- This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines.
