Overview

At Niagara, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring equipment uptime through troubleshooting and repair of production and facilities equipment, while working in a dynamic environment that values teamwork and quality.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics and testing equipment.
• Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, conveyors, and other equipment at the facility.
• Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment according to defined processes.
• Maintain industrial control systems.
• Work independently and with team members to complete repairs safely and timely.
• May fill in for production operator as needed.
• Create and report repairs throughout the shift, completing required work order paperwork.
• Understand and follow plant safety rules and use personal protective equipment where required.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance to ensure equipment and facility uptime.

Requirements

• 4 years of experience in a field or similar maintenance environment.
• 4 years of experience in the position.
• 4 years of experience managing people/projects.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments.
• Basic experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
• Skilled in using shop equipment and precision measuring equipment.
• Willingness to be a technical leader and trainer within a specific area.
• Must have own toolbox and basic tools.
