Overview
As a Facilities Technician I, you will be an integral part of our facilities management team, working to uphold the highest standards of building operations. This role offers an opportunity to work with a diverse range of systems and gain valuable experience in commercial building maintenance and repair.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting.
- Conduct regular inspections and identify potential issues or areas of improvement.
- Respond to emergency maintenance calls and ensure timely resolution.
- Collaborate with the facilities management team to develop and implement maintenance plans.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment.
- Manage and track maintenance requests, prioritizing tasks as needed.
- Order and manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Assist in minor construction or renovation projects as required.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal clients and respond to their queries or concerns.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in commercial building maintenance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in facilities management or a related field are preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial building maintenance or a similar role.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
- Proficiency in using basic hand and power tools.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, as needed.
