Overview
A Combination Welder will weld, fabricate and assist pipe fitters in the installation of varying types of industrial pipe into the project's piping systems. The position also includes responsibilities for Structural Stick and Flux Core Welders, who will assist in the installation of equipment and supports for various systems.
Responsibilities
- Selects equipment and plans layouts, assembly, and welding.
- Layouts, positions, aligns, cuts, assembles, and fits metal components together.
- Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
- Sets up equipment and welds parts using various welding equipment.
- Welds metal materials to piping systems equipment using appropriate procedures.
- Identifies all equipment for the job and process.
- Identifies all safety risks and requirements.
Requirements
- Must have 4+ years welding experience.
- Must have all required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Must be able to meet all physical requirements.
- Must have all the tools listed upon start date.
- Must be able to read blueprints and other engineering drawings.
- Must have experience welding on industrial size and grade pipe.
- Must have the ability to weld in 2g, 4g, and 6g conditions.
- Must be able to Stick and Tig weld on Pipe.
- Must have thorough knowledge of various metals characteristics.
- Must have current applicable welding certification or pass a weld test.
- Must have experience welding multiple types of pipe.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to work at heights as required.
