Overview
A Pipefitter Helper will assist the Journeyman Pipefitter in fabricating and installing piping systems, while adhering to safety protocols and demonstrating Yates Core Values. Yates Construction is a family-owned company recognized among the top commercial and industrial construction firms in the country, providing a wide range of construction services since 1964.
Responsibilities
- Assist Journeyman by performing simpler and routine duties.
- Follow detailed instructions on new work assignments.
- Review work closely while learning tasks.
- Assist with laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems.
- Demonstrate Yates Core Values and Principles.
- Follow Yates Code of Conduct.
- Refuse unsafe work and carry out tasks according to Yates Safety Procedures.
- Report incidents, near hits, and hazards to management.
- Wear and maintain personal PPE.
- Advise fellow employees of hazardous situations.
- Participate in workplace inspections.
- Comply with statutory requirements, including duty of care.
- Participate in required training.
- Provide suggestions to improve Safety.
- Attend prestart and Safety meetings.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Level IV: 36+ months of heavy industrial-related pipefitting experience.
- Level III: 24 to 35 months of heavy industrial-related pipefitting experience.
- Level II: 12 to 23 months of heavy industrial-related pipefitting experience.
- Level I: 0 to 11 months of heavy industrial-related pipefitting experience and 1 year of industrial experience.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions and documentation.
- Personal hand tools required as per Yates Industrial Minimum Tool List.
- Successful completion of required Safety training including Confined Space, LOTO, and Working at Heights.
