Sulzer is a leading engineering company with a proud heritage of innovation. The Helper Mechanic position is an entry-level role responsible for assisting in the maintenance and repair of industrial machinery under close supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain forklifts.
• Observe Company Safety Policy and Procedures.
• Be present at the job site at the scheduled time.
• Be self-motivated and willing to learn.
• Handle recycling and trash removal daily.
• Ensure all cables, shackles, straps, and chains are stored properly.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Communicate clearly with other departments and personnel.
• Perform general cleanup of change room and restroom facilities.
• Assist Core departments as required.
• Follow the STS dress code and maintain a professional appearance.
• Maintain LEAN objectives within the department.
• Perform specialized tasks as required.
• Maintain accurate time sheets daily.
• Complete company-required training programs.
• Steam clean and wash parts in the Wash Bay.
• Transport equipment and parts between departments.
• Use PPE as identified in safety documents.
• Report safety issues to the line manager.
• Ensure correct use of waste segregation facilities.
• Be available to work overtime when necessary.
