Overview

Seeking an API 653 inspector to conduct Mechanical Integrity inspections on tanks, focusing on non-destructive testing methods and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct non-destructive (NDT) testing of components and materials in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Utilize appropriate NDT methods including API 653, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, ultrasonic, leak testing, and visual inspections.
  • Select, prepare, load, calibrate, or operate equipment used in non-destructive testing.
  • Identify defects in materials using appropriate testing techniques.
  • Complete documentation, work orders, and reporting thoroughly following established protocols.
  • Drive company vehicles and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Apply safety standards in the work environment and look out for crew members.
  • Interact professionally with customers and co-workers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license and insurability through PROtect, LLC insurance carrier.
  • Certification in API 510, 570, 653 required.
  • Demonstrated NDT skill, knowledge, or experience.
  • Expertise in multiple NDT methods and willingness to engage in ongoing learning.
  • Intermediate mechanical knowledge and aptitude.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work a demanding and flexible schedule, mainly 3 weeks traveling and one week off.
  • Able to frequently lift and carry objects up to 75 pounds and occasionally up to 150 pounds with assistance.
  • Professional appearance and conduct.
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers.

Additional Information

  • Weekly schedule will consist of 6 10-hour shifts.
  • Per Diem will be paid out for days working/traveling.
