Overview
Amentum is seeking an Industrial Building Systems Operator (BSO) for their client site in Pearl River, NY. The ideal candidate will possess strong preventative maintenance skills and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service in a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and control the Building Automation System.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and HVAC equipment/systems.
- Monitor Building Management Systems for alarms and abnormal trends.
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and perform required actions.
- Respond to alarm conditions and perform basic troubleshooting.
- Document room environmental deviations and corrective actions.
- Document daily operations and alarms in logbooks.
- Perform routine building rounds to verify no emergency conditions.
- Serve as initial point of contact for outside contractors.
- Coordinate with security personnel to respond to fire panel alarms.
- Respond to customer service requests on work orders.
- Recommend measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
- Follow proper safety guidelines and wear PPE as required.
- Operate hand tools, laptop computers, and diagnostic hardware.
- Maintain a strict schedule while demonstrating flexibility.
- Keep mechanical rooms clean and organized.
- Provide shift coverage when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management or Lead.
Requirements
- High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
- 0-1 years of experience as a Building System Operator or HVAC maintenance mechanic.
- Ability to pass a Tuberculosis test prior to employment.
- Ability to pass a medical evaluation for respirator use.
- Ability to obtain a security access badge.
- Ability to obtain an appropriate driver's license.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
- Must agree to a background investigation including fingerprinting.
- Must attend and pass all provided training for the Select Agent Program.
- Must comply with Personnel Quarantine Policy for Avian Influenza.
- Ability/willingness to provide shift coverage when needed.
- Regularly lift to 50 lbs.
- Regularly climb ladders, steps, and scaffolding.
- Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.

Additional Information
- Typical work schedule is 12 hour shifts from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
