Overview

The QC Inspector, Outfitting position at Hanwha Philly Shipyard involves performing inspections and tests to ensure compliance with safety procedures and quality standards. The role requires effective communication and coordination with various departments while managing quality aspects of assigned projects.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with HPSI safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Perform inspections and witness tests as per Hanwha Philly Shipyard specifications.
  • Prepare reports and quality records in line with company procedures.
  • Coordinate QC work with other departments such as start-up, engineering, and outfitting.
  • Attend company meetings regularly and provide feedback to management.
  • Manage the Quality Outfitting aspect of assigned projects or vessels.
  • Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy and functionality according to requirements.
  • Conduct incoming inspections on materials in collaboration with material control staff.
  • Visually inspect outfitting functions, including piping, flanges, gaskets, valves, and tests.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience or 5 years in Shipboard Piping and similar installations.
  • Knowledge of piping systems and vessel equipment.
  • Familiarity with shipbuilding and Marine Classification Society Rules.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Basic computer skills required; knowledge of Microsoft Office is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with production teams and representatives.
