Overview
The Plant Maintenance General position is an entry-level role responsible for assisting with general tasks around the worksite, requiring minimal prior experience. The role serves as an introduction to the industry and aims to assess the employee's potential for long-term development within the company.
Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections, lubricate moving parts, and complete scheduled preventative maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot and replace basic mechanical components, including conveyor belts, idlers, pulleys, and water pumps.
- Perform structural repairs and replace heavy wear-parts using welding, cutting, and grinding equipment.
- Adhere to MSHA and OSHA regulations, execute Lockout/Tagout protocols, and maintain a hazard-free work area.
- Observe aggregate crushing, washing, and screening areas to identify anomalies and perform minor adjustments.
- Record and maintain service logs, lubrication reports, and maintenance records for plant equipment.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience in maintenance, preferably with heavy equipment and machines.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety and ability to follow safety procedures.
- General awareness of tools and equipment used on-site.
- Willingness to learn mechanical and maintenance fundamentals.
- Exposure to preventative maintenance processes under supervision.
- Knowledge of using a wide variety of hand and power tools, cutting torches, and welding equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical equipment maintenance.
- A valid driver's license.
