Job Description
Overview
Join our team as a Steamfitter at New Mexico State University (NMSU) in Las Cruces, New Mexico. This position involves maintaining and repairing campus steam distribution systems and operating high/low pressure boilers, requiring a New Mexico Journeyman Pipe Fitter License or the ability to obtain one within a year of hire.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair steam distribution system and related equipment.
- Perform steam distribution system maintenance activities.
- Operate and maintain high/low pressure steam boilers, related controls and safety devices.
- Perform related work as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma + 1 year of relevant experience, or higher degree.
- New Mexico Journeyman Pipe Fitter License or ability to obtain it within a year from date of hire.
Additional Information
- Standard work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
- This is a bargaining unit position with AFSCME.
