Overview
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering is seeking an Experienced Structural Engineer for their Temporary Works Group. The role involves innovative design engineering to support construction processes and ensure safety and efficiency in temporary structures.
Responsibilities
- Develop drawings and calculations for temporary works and construction methods.
- Create heavy lift plans including site logistics and equipment selection.
- Evaluate existing structures for construction loads and demolition planning.
- Conduct structural analysis to ensure stability during temporary conditions.
- Support excavation systems or cofferdams for construction below grade.
- Perform and review calculations and design drawings according to industry standards.
- Ensure quality and accuracy of design deliverables.
- Identify design risks and assist with risk mitigation planning.
- Assist in Project Management including budgets and schedules.
- Provide on-site design engineering support and inspections.
Requirements
- Experience with temporary structures and/or construction engineering.
- Accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
- 5 - 10 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Professional Engineer licensure or eligibility within the United States.
- Strong knowledge of structural engineering.
- Experience with engineering design software such as AutoCAD and RISA-3D.
- Ability to work in a team setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong inter-personal skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to organize and handle multiple project assignments.
- Willingness to travel and relocate based on business needs.
- Ability to access all points of a construction site in various climates.
