Overview

Tutor Perini Civil East is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for their office in New Rochelle, NY. The company has a long history of supporting infrastructure development and maintenance across the nation, focusing on public works projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks on projects requiring knowledge in heavy/highway civil construction and structural engineering.
• Conduct structural analysis and design including reinforced and pre-stressed concrete, steel, timber design, and deep foundations.
• Ensure design conformance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Prepare and review calculations for analysis, engineering reports, memoranda, and design submittals.
• Prepare working/draft construction drawings for AutoCAD drafter.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or similar from an accredited institution.
• 10 or more years of relevant experience, with bridge experience required.
• Master's degree focused in structural engineering is preferred.
• PE license (NY or NJ) required, NY preferred.
• Proficient in using structural finite element analysis software tools such as MIDAS or RISA.
• Proficient working knowledge of Excel and Mathcad.
• Understanding and application of industry accepted codes such as IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC, NDS, AREMA, AASHTO, and AWS.
• Maintain membership in industry organizations and continued professional development for PE License.
• Ability to organize and handle multiple tasks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
• Experience working on projects in the NYC/Metropolitan area preferred.
