Overview

American Airlines Center is a premier entertainment venue that hosts a variety of live events and sports, serving over 2 million guests annually. They are seeking an experienced Kitchen Equipment Mechanic to ensure commercial kitchens and concession operations are ready for events, providing a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on kitchen equipment including coolers, freezers, and grills.
• Conduct preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance on gas distribution systems and associated equipment.
• Diagnose and repair refrigeration compressors and related components.
• Inspect kitchen equipment for compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer recommendations.
• Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for tracking maintenance and repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair commercial cooking and refrigeration systems.
• Collaborate with management to minimize downtime and ensure event readiness.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and verify the quality of completed work.
• Assist in developing preventive maintenance programs for kitchen equipment.
• Support annual capital planning for kitchen equipment upgrades.
• Install and test new commercial kitchen equipment.
• Perform minor plumbing and electrical repairs related to kitchen equipment.
• Provide event support and respond to maintenance needs during events.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience servicing commercial cooking equipment.
• Minimum 3 years of commercial refrigeration experience.
• Experience in a high-volume food service environment preferred.
• EPA Refrigerant Certification required.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting and repairing commercial kitchen equipment.
• Strong understanding of refrigeration systems and mechanical equipment.
• Proficient with hand tools and maintenance software.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Additional Information

• Work hours are Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays.
