Overview
The Fleet Mechanic position involves performing maintenance and repairs on all District-owned vehicles, ensuring they are safe and operational. The role requires a valid driver's license and the ability to work under hazardous conditions.
Responsibilities
- Repairs and services all District vehicles
- Performs extensive monthly inspections on all vehicles in the school fleet
- Performs on-the-road service calls for all District vehicles
- Signs for all parts and materials issued by the parts manager and for service rendered to vehicles
- Maintains fuel and oil levels in District vehicles
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Driver License required
- Must be insurable by Fulton County Board of Education
- Possession of a valid Class B Commercial Driver License with passenger, S, and air brake endorsements preferred
- Some experience as a mechanic preferred
- Excellent driving record
- Must have basic computer skills
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
