Overview

Northern Star Resources Limited is an Australian ASX 100 gold producer with four Tier-1 projects in Australia and North America. They are seeking a Senior Metallurgist for their Pogo operation in Alaska, offering a challenging role with leadership responsibilities in the metallurgical team.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and coach the Metallurgical Team for succession planning.
• Develop and maintain up-to-date job procedures for the team.
• Ensure personnel are trained and qualified in operating procedures.
• Manage the day-to-day metallurgical function.
• Produce month-end reports for the Processing Department.
• Support Project and Plant Metallurgists as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Extractive Metallurgy, or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in the mining industry.
• Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in the gold mining industry.
• Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
• Awareness of the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Act & Regulations.
• Ability to pass a background check and post-offer physical.

Additional Information

• Working a 15 days on, 13 days off rotating schedule.
• Up to 12 hours a day or more at a remote campsite.
