Overview
The GMAW Fabrication Welder II performs MIG welding and assembly on production and rebuild components in a fast-paced industrial setting. This role requires proficiency in GMAW welding, the ability to read blueprints, and a commitment to quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Execute MIG welds on sub-assemblies and finished products to print
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions
- Weld in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions
- Fit, assemble, and aid fabrication of production parts
- Perform in-process inspections and verify weld quality
- Prep units for downstream operations (cleaning and finishing)
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation
- Follow OSHA procedures and company quality standards
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, personnel lifts, and metalworking tools as needed
- Complete accurate production and inspection documentation
Requirements
- 4–7 years of welding experience preferred
- MIG (GMAW) proficiency required
- Ability to read blueprints and weld to print
- Strong knowledge of welding safety and quality standards
- Proven ability to work with minimal supervision
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs; comfortable with physically demanding work
