Job Description

Overview

The GTAW Welder (Night Shift) position involves preparing, arranging, fitting, and assembling various materials using multiple welding processes. This role requires adherence to quality and safety standards while working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Apply all types of welding processes to various parts, assemblies, and components.
  • Make welds in all positions.
  • Interpret and execute production using drawings, blueprints, and planning.
  • Set up and perform welding operations in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Check welds visually and dimensionally for conformance to blueprints and specifications.
  • Possess a working knowledge of welding practice and weldability of current metal groups.
  • Participate in problem solving and continuous improvements.
  • Adhere to all quality and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Must pass weld test coupons per AWS D17 for various weld groups.
  • High School diploma or equivalent – documentation required.
  • Must meet ITAR definition of US Person(s) – documentation required.
  • Must have sheet metal fabrication skills and be familiar with assembly/disassembly procedures.
  • Must demonstrate tube welding at 45, 60, and 90 degree angles.
  • Desired 3 years’ experience in tube welding of aerospace alloys.
  • Desired current weld certification per AWS D17 for various weld groups.
  • Adhere to AS9100 and other quality standards.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience using TIG, torch, and TIG brazing.
  • Experience with aerospace alloys such as Stainless Steel, Inconel, Titanium, Cobalt, and Alum.
  • Experience with in-process use of visual and FPI inspection is a plus.
  • Ongoing FAA testing and training required.
