Overview
The GTAW Welder will prepare, arrange, fit, and assemble various materials using multiple welding processes. The role requires adherence to quality and safety standards while working in a fast-paced team environment.
Responsibilities
- Apply all types of welding processes to various parts, assemblies, and components.
- Make welds in all positions.
- Interpret and execute production using drawings, blueprints, and planning.
- Set up and perform welding operations in accordance with customer requirements.
- Check welds visually and dimensionally for conformance to blueprints and specifications.
- Possess a working knowledge of welding practice and weldability of current metal groups.
- Participate in problem solving and continuous improvements.
- Adhere to all quality and safety standards.
Requirements
- Must pass weld test coupons per AWS D17 for various weld groups.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Must meet ITAR definition of US Person(s).
- Must have sheet metal fabrication skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate tube welding at 45, 60, and 90 degree angles.
- Desired 3 years’ experience tube welding aerospace alloys.
- Desired current weld certification per AWS D17.
- Adhere to AS9100 and other quality standards.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience using TIG, torch, and TIG brazing.
- Experience with aerospace alloys such as Stainless Steel, Inconel, Titanium, Cobalt, and Alum.
- Experience with in-process use of visual and FPI inspection is a plus.
- Ongoing FAA testing and training required.
