Overview

Madden Bolt is a leading fabricator of quality steel industrial fasteners and miscellaneous steel parts, with a history dating back to 1942. The Fitter/Welder plays a critical role in the fabrication and assembly of metal structures, ensuring that all parts meet precise specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and welding requirements.
  • Fit metal parts together by measuring, cutting, and shaping components to precise dimensions.
  • Perform welding operations using techniques such as MIG and FCAW welding to join metal parts.
  • Inspect welds and assemblies for quality and compliance with industry standards and specifications.
  • Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition and safe to use.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to plan and execute fabrication projects efficiently.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a fitter and welder in a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Certification in welding (e.g., AWS Certified Welder) or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to operate welding equipment safely and effectively.
  • Experience with multiple welding techniques including MIG, FCAW welding.
  • Familiarity with metal fabrication tools and machinery.
  • Knowledge of welding codes and standards such as AWS, ASME, or API.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, fast-paced production environment.
  • Additional certifications related to welding inspection or metal fitting.
