Overview
M.W. Watermark is an environmentally conscious company focused on making a positive difference in the water business by building custom water and wastewater treatment equipment. The Welder III position involves hands-on fabrication and welding of water treatment machinery components.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and structurally weld water treatment machinery components.
- Seal weld large steel tanks used in water treatment.
- Prepare subcomponents for welding and post-weld prep for paint.
- Proficiently perform MIG and TIG welding of carbon and stainless steels.
- Conduct some non-structural welding of carbon and stainless steel.
- Perform pipe welding.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics.
- Inspect completed welds for structural soundness.
- Build fixtures and jigs.
- Conduct quality control using fillet gauges and other equipment.
- Operate saws, drills, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
- Clean and maintain the work area.
- Promote and contribute to a continuous improvement culture.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Understanding of geometric tolerances and dimensional stack ups.
- Understanding of required welding gases and wires.
- 8+ years of experience in structural welding of steel components.
- 8+ years of experience in seal welding of steel tanks.
- 8+ years of experience with MIG and TIG welding techniques.
- Weld certifications are preferred.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
- Ability to read and understand shop drawings and specifications.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Additional Information
- This position cannot be done remotely and requires hands-on work in the factory.
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
