Overview
Northern Star Resources Limited is a global-scale Australian gold producer with world-class projects in Australia and North America. They are offering an exciting opportunity for a recently graduated or soon-to-be graduating Metallurgist at their Pogo operation in Alaska.
Responsibilities
- Participate in a 2-year Graduate Metallurgist Program to apply education in a gold processing environment.
- Learn from experienced professionals in grinding, gravity concentration, flotation, leaching, and filtering unit operations.
- Complete key metallurgical duties under mentorship.
- Spend significant time with operations, maintenance, and mining departments to understand mine site operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Engineering Degree in Metallurgy/Materials or Chemistry from an accredited institution.
- Previous experience in a mill, mine, or other industrial setting is preferred.
- Ability to work unsupervised and demonstrate good problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Must pass a post-offer physical and drug test, as well as a criminal history and background check.

Additional Information
- Work schedule of 15 days on, 13 days off, up to 12 hours a day or more at a remote campsite.
- Employees stay on site at the company provided camp during the work rotation.
- Camp facilities include dining service, games room, exercise & weight room, sauna, and accommodation rooms.
- Dormitory rooms have a landline phone, internet, and cable TV programs.
- Cell service is available using Wi-Fi.
- Bus service provided to and from Fairbanks, Delta Junction, and Tok, Alaska.
