Job Description

Overview

The Marine Welder/Fabricator - Tower Division Lead is responsible for the layout, fabrication, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifications of equipment and components using both Ferrous and Non-Ferrous alloy materials. This role requires high-quality welding skills and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding in all positions, including complex joints and orientations.
  • Utilize multiple welding processes: GTAW (TIG), GMAW Steel MIG, FCAW, GMAW Aluminum MIG, SMAW, following AWS and/or Shipyard standards.
  • Execute welds on various joint types such as lap, tee, fillet, and tube-to-plate.
  • Work with aluminum and stainless-steel plate and pipe, ensuring high-quality welds.
  • Interpret and apply welding codes and specifications accurately.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and safety throughout all tasks.
  • Take responsibility for workmanship and ensure compliance with company and industry standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience with aluminum and stainless-steel plate and pipe welding.
  • Experience TIG and MIG.
  • Must pass AWS certification test for 3G and 4G (plate) and 6G (pipe) positions after employment.
  • Must be able to read and write clearly and legibly.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure.
  • Must have a valid and clean driver’s license.
  • Must be able to stand and work for 8 hours a day.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • 7 – 10 years’ experience in the marine industry fabricating tuna towers, railings and accessories is preferred.
  • Professional welding certifications (AWS, ABS, or equivalent) are preferred.
  • Additional certifications in advanced welding techniques are preferred.
  • Previous experience in industrial or marine environments is preferred.

  • Requires bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and twisting.
  • Requires the ability to use speech, vision and hearing.
  • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to changes in temperature and humidity.
  • Work is performed outside in the elements, on and around water.
