Overview
The Jor-Mac Company is a contract manufacturer of metal fabrications and assemblies, providing high-quality and cost-competitive solutions to OEMs since 1952. The 1st Shift Welder plays a vital role in producing welded components that meet specifications and safety standards, requiring skills in interpreting blueprints and various welding techniques.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding operations using MIG, TIG, Stick, or other welding methods as required by the project specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements and procedures.
- Inspect welded joints for quality and accuracy, making adjustments or repairs as necessary to meet standards.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition, performing routine cleaning and minor repairs.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment for self and coworkers.
- Collaborate with production supervisors and team members to meet daily production targets and deadlines.
- Document work performed and report any issues or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Certification in welding (e.g., AWS Certified Welder) or equivalent recognized credential.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols accurately.
- Knowledge of welding safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
