Overview

The Engineering Technician (Production) position in Sterling, Virginia, is a contract role lasting over 2 years, offering a compensation range of $35.00 to $40.87 per hour. The technician will support production operations and collaborate with engineers and welders while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support production operations by working alongside engineers and welders to perform powder handling and assembly operations.
  • Assist in material preparation for packing and welding operations.
  • Assist the welder with crimping operations.
  • Communicate effectively with engineering and management to ensure consistent and accurate flow of information for scheduling and delivery.
  • Accurately document process information and data in FactoryLogix.
  • Follow work instructions and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with our quality system.
  • Practice safe operation procedures at all times.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and cleanouts of equipment and machinery, such as augers and kilns, to ensure safe and proper operation.
  • Perform job responsibilities involving exposure to hazards such as steel powder handling, handling acetone, and welding operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 18 years of age or more.
  • Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance; U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite.
  • 2 years of hands-on experience in a related position.
  • A strong willingness to learn new skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with computers and operating software.
  • Preferred experience with FactoryLogix or similar manufacturing execution system software.
  • Experience working with fine metal powders.
  • Experience using powder handling equipment.
  • Dedication to safety procedures, including work area maintenance and organization.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in written form.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
