Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Welder / Fabricator to join our client's 2nd shift maintenance team. This position will work closely with our diesel mechanics to repair, reinforce, and fabricate components for a fleet of garbage and refuse trucks. Our client is a Second Chance Employer and welcomes qualified candidates with felony backgrounds who are looking for a long-term career opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG, Stick, and other welding processes as required
• Repair damaged truck bodies, containers, frames, and structural components
• Fabricate brackets, supports, panels, and replacement parts
• Cut, grind, fit, and assemble metal components
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and measurements
• Inspect completed welds to ensure quality and durability
• Work alongside diesel mechanics on vehicle repairs and modifications
• Operate welding, cutting, and fabrication equipment safely
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all shop safety procedures and PPE requirements

Requirements

• Previous welding and fabrication experience required
• Experience with MIG welding preferred
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately
• Ability to use grinders, torches, plasma cutters, and fabrication tools
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
