Job Description
Overview
The Certified Welder Inspector (CWI) performs various duties to ensure compliance with AAR, AWS, customer, and internal regulations, including developing Welding Procedure Specifications and inspecting welded joints for defects and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Develop Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Reports (PQR) per American Welding Society (AWS) requirements.
- Inspect and test welded joints of work in progress and completed units for visible defects.
- Ensure correct dimensions, joint strength, bead formation, weld penetration, and conformance with layout and blueprint.
