Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company that focuses on advancing agricultural productivity and reimagining vital infrastructure. The Structural Back Welder role involves operating a sub-arc welder, ensuring quality repairs, and maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sub-arc welder and place welds on shafts.
• Gouge and grind areas to meet ultrasonic inspection standards.
• Weld, grind, and repair poles before inspection by Quality Inspectors.
• Repair seaming defects as directed by Quality Inspectors.
• Maintain essential tools and welding equipment.
• Deliver products on time without manufacturing errors.
• Participate in department safety and adhere to safety policies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Pass an AWS welder qualification test.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a heavy manufacturing environment or one year from an accredited trade school.
• Knowledge of welding properties of various metals and alloys.
• Thorough knowledge of welding procedures and practices.
• Ability to calculate formulas using basic mathematics and measurements.
• Familiarity with Valmont's quality procedures and environmental policies.
• Maintain acceptable levels of production, quality, and attendance within 90 days.
