The Fabrication Mechanic is responsible for the layout, setup, and operation of fabrication equipment to manufacture high-quality metal components according to engineering specifications and production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, and modify metal components and parts according to blueprints and engineering specifications.
• Set up, operate, and safely use fabrication and machining equipment.
• Consistently meet or exceed production deadlines while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Produce parts that meet or exceed quality standards as determined by the Production Supervisor.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Measure, mark, and inspect materials using precision measuring tools.
• Troubleshoot machine or equipment issues and perform routine preventative maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Collaborate with production staff and quality personnel to resolve fabrication issues.
• Assist with material handling and preparation of components for production.
• Follow all safety procedures and use personal protective equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience, or a minimum of 6 years of related experience in lieu of a diploma.
• Metal fabrication experience preferred.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical instructions.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication processes.
• Ability to accurately measure and inspect parts using precision measuring tools.
• Strong attention to detail.
