Overview

Alamo Industrial is a leading manufacturer of tractor-mounted mowers and related equipment, serving governmental, agricultural, and commercial markets for over 50 years. The Welder position involves fitting and welding fabricated steel frames and metal parts on the production floor under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in a safe manner.
• Pick and gather parts as directed by supervisor/Lead for welding.
• Turn valves to release fuel, gas, and oxygen, and ignite the mixture or insert specified weld rod into the holder.
• Guide electrodes or torch and filler rod along standard position weld joints.
• Effectively communicate all issues to supervisor/lead.
• Work in teams.
• Complete defect-free parts in a timely manner.
• Perform other assigned duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma / GED or equivalent of 2 years of weld experience.
• One year of welding experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints with weld symbols and specifications.
• Ability to read measuring devices.
• Manual dexterity and mechanically inclined.
• Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane.

Additional Information

• Ability to lift, push or pull up to 35 pounds alone and greater than 35 pounds with assistance.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time (up to 8+ hours).
• Ability to wear appropriate PPE.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to work in a non-climate controlled manufacturing plant environment.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces.
• Must be able to tolerate heights.
• Frequent walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing as required.
