The Welder role involves fabricating, fitting, repairing, and welding metal components for building products while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding on various production, fabrication, and repair projects according to work orders and specifications.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and production documents.
- Cut, fit, grind, and prepare metal components for welding and assembly.
- Perform torch cutting, material preparation, and finishing operations as required.
- Fabricate, modify, and repair metal components and assemblies to meet quality and dimensional requirements.
- Inspect completed welds and finished products to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Work on multiple fabrication and welding projects simultaneously while meeting production schedules.
- Coordinate with production, operations, and warehouse teams to ensure materials and completed products are available when needed.
- Assist with fabrication, assembly, and production activities as business needs require.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and workflow.
- Safely operate welding equipment, torches, grinders, cutting equipment, and other fabrication tools.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on welding equipment and tools.
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain welding consumables, materials, and shop supplies.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and PPE requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Ensure all welding and fabrication work meets company quality standards and customer specifications.
- Report unsafe conditions, quality concerns, or production issues immediately.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong welding, fabrication, fitting, and torch-cutting skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and measurements.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of welding or metal fabrication experience.
- Experience in manufacturing, construction, structural steel, rebar fabrication, or industrial fabrication environments.
- Welding certification (AWS or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience with MIG, TIG, Stick, or Flux-Core welding processes.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification is a plus.
