Overview
Austin Industrial is a leading provider of maintenance, construction, and soft craft services to industrial companies across the U.S. The Pipefitter role involves laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems and related equipment for various industrial applications.
Responsibilities
- Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using tools such as saws and pipe threaders.
- Attach pipes to walls and structures using brackets, clamps, or welding equipment.
- Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
- Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
- Select pipe sizes and types and related materials according to specifications.
- Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems and related machines and equipment.
- Install automatic controls used to regulate pipe systems.
- Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids from pipe sections.
- Remove and replace worn components.
- Inspect work sites for obstructions and ensure structural integrity.
- Operate motorized pumps to remove water from flooded areas.
- Dip nonferrous piping materials in a mixture to prevent erosion.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- No minimum education requirements.
- 4 years of Journeyman-level experience.
- NCCER certification.
- Valid Driver’s License.
