Overview

Ryder is hiring a Permanent Full Time Pallet Repair Associate in Houston, Texas, offering a weekly pay structure and various benefits. The role involves working in a safe supply chain environment with state-of-the-art equipment, primarily handling pallets and operating a sit-down forklift.

Responsibilities

• Saw operation and maintenance.
• Adjust saw blades by turning hand wheels, pressing pedals, levers, and panel buttons.
• Determine sawing blade and cutting procedure.
• Clear machine jams using hand tools.
• Unclamp and remove work pieces.
• Count, sort, and stack finished work pieces and dispose of waste material.
• Lubricate and clean the machine.
• Sharpen or replace defective or worn blades and bands.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 0 to 1 year experience driving a forklift.
• 0 to 1 year experience operating a band saw preferred.
• 0 to 1 year in Carpentry or Manufacturing Environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 65 lbs.
• Must have good hand and eye coordination.
• Must be able to follow verbal instructions and meet production standards.
• Safety minded and detail oriented.
• Must maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level, and crouch on a frequent basis.
