Overview

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Composite Bonder level 2 to join their operations team in El Segundo, CA. The role involves working with dissimilar materials to create bonded assemblies and structures, contributing to revolutionary systems that impact lives globally.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Lay out articles, cut parts or materials to size, and apply bonding agents.
• Understand ply orientations and vacuum bagging processes.
• Operate autoclave, hydraulic presses, and ovens to complete bonding cycles.
• Control conditions of heat, pressure, and timing according to specifications.
• Sand, burs, and smooth areas, applying sealing resins to cut or exposed edges.
• Monitor and verify the quality of finished products.
• Complete repairs on bonded products using inspection and rework instructions.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED with 2 years of relatable composite fabrication or bonding experience.
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret Security Clearance and special program access.
• Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work.
• Must be able to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment.
• Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends.
• Must successfully complete the 'ASTAR New Hire Training / Compliance'.
• Must pass a New Hire Physical Exam and MDA Screening.
