Overview

Stepan Company is seeking a Mechanic to join their Maintenance team in Anaheim, CA. The Mechanic will provide electrical, electronic, mechanical, and technical support to ensure stable operations and promote safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain boilers, chillers, and cooling towers along with other plant utilities.
• Troubleshoot repair/rebuild centrifugal, lobe, gear, and diaphragm pumps.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting and basic electrical repairs.
• Support the production team in continuous operation.
• Maintain the wastewater plant.
• Weld stainless steel and carbon steel.
• Perform piping repairs and installations including various types of piping.
• Use laser alignment tools on rotating equipment to ensure proper shaft alignment.
• Troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment to determine repair process.
• Participate in compliance activities including audits for applicable standards.

Requirements

• Technical/trade school certification.
• Successfully completed an apprenticeship program, e.g., Millwrights, Operating Engineers.
• Experience with pump disassembly and reassembly.
• Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, and think strategically.
• Refinery experience is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year or more of mechanical experience or preferred education.

Additional Information

• This is a Union position with M-F day shift hours and occasional night and weekend work.
• There is a 180-day probationary period.
• Wage starts at $41.26/hr and post probation wage is $47.26.
