Overview
Cadrex is searching for a Welder II to use Manual Welding skills to manufacture weldments to defined specifications, workmanship standards and production schedule.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs
- Arrange parts for welding and staging processes
- Perform quality inspection/checks per quality documentation/control plan
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Lead
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures
- Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Write simple correspondence
- Uphold site efficiency standards
- Learn and demonstrate continuous improvement for Safety and Quality standards and procedures
- Perform other duties as requested by the Lead
- Assist in other work areas as assigned
- Understand welding symbols, print tolerances and quality measuring equipment
- Work completely independently without supervision
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in assigned work center
- Produce quality work at company standard efficiency level for assigned work center
- Cross trained in multiple workstations
Requirements
- 1+ years in a metal manufacturing setting preferred
- Pass AWS certifications for MIG welding steel and aluminum
- Possess a basic understanding of welding symbols, print tolerances and quality measuring equipment
- Meet or exceed company PPM level standards by consistently producing quality work
- Obtain and maintain weld certifications in two or more welding processes specific to employee’s location
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to read and interpret prints and work orders
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
