Overview

Responsibilities

• Assembles products by hand or using hand tools and portable powered tools.
• Loads and unloads machines to perform fastening, force fitting, or light metal-cutting operations.
• Lays out reference points and assembles according to blueprints and engineering specifications.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, and bills of materials.
• Cuts, bends, and trims parts according to layout.
• Cleans parts using hand files or portable grinders.
• Aligns components and bolts, screws, or rivets them together.
• Installs and tests moving parts.
• May assist with shipping and receiving and maintain ERP system data.
• Repairs units that fail to meet specifications.
• Cleans work area.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, and bills of materials.
• Basic computer skills and ERP software knowledge.
• Active forklift certification is a plus.
• Problem-solving skills to identify and inform others about issues.
• Verbal communication skills to interact with co-workers and customers.
• Written communication skills to maintain documentation.
• Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and ratios.
