Overview

Arthur + Lucca is Chicago's premier tailor shop specializing in custom clothing and precision alterations. They are seeking an Alterations Fitter and Custom Clothing Stylist to work closely with clients during the fitting process and guide them through custom clothing options.

Responsibilities

• Conduct bridal and ready-to-wear fittings with skill, warmth, and precision.
• Pin and mark garments clearly for the sewing team.
• Guide clients through the alteration process, setting expectations and answering questions.
• Collaborate with tailors and stylists for a seamless experience.
• Learn the custom clothing program and introduce clients to bespoke options.
• Build lasting client relationships across alterations and custom clothing.
• Contribute to a studio culture focused on quality, hospitality, and craft.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience fitting clients for alterations, including bridal gowns and ready-to-wear.
• Understanding of fit, proportion, balance, drape, and movement.
• Ability to communicate adjustments clearly to clients and the sewing team.
• Genuine curiosity about clothing construction, fabric, and style.
• Thrive in a structured, quality-driven environment.
• Dependable and self-motivated with a focus on quality.
• Basic computer skills for email, data entry, and client tracking.

Additional Information

• Full-time, year-round role with a schedule of Friday–Monday plus one additional weekday.
