Overview

Schindler Group is seeking a Wire Specialist Custom in Wayne, NJ, to assemble and wire elevator fixtures, contributing to the quality of urban life through safe transportation solutions. The role involves following engineering drawings and maintaining high standards of safety and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and wire elevator fixtures as directed.
• Familiarize with standard components used in assembly and wiring functions.
• Perform assembly and wiring duties from engineering drawings, PDF files, and wiring charts.
• Examine finished work to ensure it meets assembly and wiring directions.
• Ensure completed jobs are properly assembled and wired before moving to the next operation.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Keep company-provided tools in safe condition and secure them in a lockable toolbox.
• Perform all work in an efficient, professional manner.
• Meet company quality standards in all work.
• Maintain an acceptable level of productivity.
• Follow all company safety rules and regulations.
• Read, receive instructions, and communicate in English.
• Frequently lift 25-40 pounds and/or move up to 40 pounds with proper lifting techniques.

Requirements

• High school graduate.
• Knowledge of ELEC/MECH Engineering, drawing, and BOM.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and routing.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
• Problem-solving skills or lean six sigma experience.
