Overview
The Maintenance Mechanic performs general maintenance duties including installations and repairs of electrical, water, heating, and ventilation systems, as well as interior and exterior structural woodwork and masonry.
Responsibilities
- Installs, repairs and maintains all existing electrical systems excluding duties necessitating Electrician I and II expertise.
- Constructs, repairs, replaces and maintains all woodwork including structural woodwork and masonry to interior and exterior of building.
- Repairs furniture, equipment, machinery and door checks.
- Installs, maintains, repairs and replaces existing water, waste, vent, drainage and vacuum systems.
- Installs, maintains and repairs existing heating, air conditioning and ventilation equipment.
- Performs painter duties, including assembling scaffolding, and installation of wallboards and tiles.
- Maintains and cares for Medical Center grounds and general cleanliness of all exterior areas.
- Installs, operates and repairs heavy and light equipment (both medical and non-medical).
- Recommends and/or prepares purchase requests.
- Assists trade mechanics in the performance of their duties and assists in snow removal.
- Serves as a member of the Fire Response Team and responds to emergencies.
- Performs related duties, as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience.
- Ability to use tools related to the carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, and mechanical trades.
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.
