Overview
Core & Main is a leader in advancing reliable infrastructure with a focus on water, wastewater, storm drainage, and fire protection products. They are seeking a skilled Fusion Tech III to deliver high-quality HDPE piping solutions and exceptional customer service in a hands-on role.
Responsibilities
- Determine appropriate fusion method and equipment necessary to install pipe.
- Provide and install custom HDPE piping systems and repair systems.
- Perform Butt, Sidewall, Socket, Electro fusion and extrusion structure welds.
- Inspect and maintain fusion equipment.
- Communicate with customers to assess needs.
- Identify installation and repair needs.
- Determine if final product meets quality control standards.
- Transport equipment to job site.
- Operate field equipment and forklift.
- Be responsible for 24-hour on-call repair emergencies.
Requirements
- Experience as an HDPE Fusion Technician, including operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of polyethylene pipe fusion equipment.
- Generally, a minimum of 3 years of experience in a related area of responsibility.
- Working knowledge of HDPE fusion processes, equipment setup, quality standards, and safe operating practices.
- Basic to intermediate mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and performing repairs on fusion equipment.
- Basic to intermediate electrical aptitude for diagnosing common electrical issues associated with fusion equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, operating procedures, and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to safe work practices.
- Valid Arizona driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Possession of a valid Arizona Commercial Driver License (CDL) with applicable DOT endorsements, or ability to obtain within a specified period.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials in accordance with company safety standards.
- McElroy equipment training and/or certification.
- Current HDPE fusion certifications through recognized industry organizations or manufacturers.
- Experience in underground utility, pipeline, natural gas, water, wastewater, telecommunications, mining, or construction-related industries.
- Additional industry-specific safety, equipment, or operator certifications.
Additional Information
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must pass pre-employment assessment(s).
- Ability to successfully complete and maintain all required training and certifications, including HDPE fusion training, OSHA safety training, and MSHA Part 48 training.
- Ability to meet all DOT medical certification requirements.
- Willingness and ability to travel overnight on a consistent basis.
