Overview
IMCOR is seeking a motivated Sheet Metal Shop Apprentice for an entry-level opportunity to learn the sheet metal trade in a shop environment alongside experienced professionals. The role involves assisting with the fabrication and assembly of sheet metal materials and HVAC components.
Responsibilities
- Assist journeymen and shop team members with sheet metal fabrication and assembly tasks.
- Help set up, operate, and clean fabrication machines and shop equipment as assigned.
- Load, unload, move, organize, and stage sheet metal materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Clean work areas and keep shop materials organized and accessible.
- Assist with measuring, cutting, shaping, fastening, and assembling sheet metal components.
- Smooth seams, joints, and edges using files, grinders, or other approved tools.
- Perform basic shop support tasks such as material handling, cleanup, and preparation of work areas.
- Learn proper use and care of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Follow safety procedures, company policies, and instructions from shop leadership.
- Maintain a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
Requirements
- Prior sheet metal, construction, shop, warehouse, or mechanical experience is helpful, but not required.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work accurately and safely in a fast-paced shop environment.
- Basic ability to use or learn hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools.
- Strong attendance, dependability, and willingness to work as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Additional Information
- Monday through Friday schedule.
- Day shift with potential for overtime based on business needs.
