Overview
The In-Process Inspector at Ralliant Corporation is responsible for performing visual, mechanical, and electrical inspections in manufacturing areas under supervision. This role focuses on quality assurance and involves progressing through structured training to achieve independent inspection capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform repetitive dimensional and electrical inspections using basic inspection equipment.
- Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and execute accurate record keeping practices.
- Engage in structured training programs and apply learned inspection techniques.
- Follow written work instructions, inspection manuals, and documented procedures precisely.
- Progress from supervised training to independent inspection work.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all inspection activities.
- Remain flexible and work with a variety of individuals in different manufacturing areas.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and written instructions.
- Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and electrical test equipment.
- Schedule, plan, and execute assigned tasks efficiently to support production flow.
- Prioritize workload to minimize or eliminate production delays.
- Interface directly with customer representatives as required.
- Demonstrate basic mathematical skills and computer literacy.
- Attend offsite training classes to maintain required inspection and certification standards.
- Perform or review First Article Inspection Reports as required.
- Support overtime as scheduled or required by supervision.
- Perform In-Process Surveillance Audits.
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications and other systems.
- Become PacSci trained in various inspection techniques.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous manufacturing or inspection-related work experience.
- 3–6 years of mechanical inspection experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of mechanical measuring tools.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow drawings and specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new tasks quickly.
- Strong written, verbal, mathematical, and analytical skills.
- Ability to participate in required training and certification programs.
- IPC 600, IPC 610, and J-STD certifications preferred.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Prior in-process inspection experience preferred.
