Overview
Boart Longyear is a global leader in drilling services with over 130 years of experience, committed to safety and technology. They are hiring Heavy Equipment Mechanics for shop and field positions, involving travel and overtime to maintain and repair their fleet of drill rigs and support equipment.
Responsibilities
- Service, repair, and maintain Boart Longyear’s fleet of drill rigs and support equipment.
- Perform repairs on electric powered hydraulic systems, diesel powered hydraulic systems, and high pressure pneumatic systems.
- Diagnose hydraulic problems and perform quick turnarounds to get rigs back in operation.
- Conduct routine maintenance and emergency breakdown repairs at various locations.
- Train and assist in equipment repairs and overhauls in the workshop.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of mechanic experience required.
- Experience with electrical and hydraulic schematics required.
- Some welding and fabrication experience recommended.
- Hydraulic experience, including pumps, manifolds, and cylinder repairs recommended.
- Basic diesel engine and fuel system diagnostic experience.
- Electrical experience or certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of high-pressure air systems and duplex/triplex mud pumps is a plus.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently.
- Must have own tools and a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to attain a CDL and be MSHA/OSHA certified.
