Overview

This is a full-time, in-house position for someone who enjoys building custom projects for live events, theater, corporate productions, broadcast environments, and experiential installations. Proof Productions provides custom fabrication, scenic automation, staging, rigging, and video solutions for major live events and productions.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricating custom scenery, staging components, displays, carts, enclosures, and event structures
  • Working with wood, metal, plastics, laminates, fabric, foam, and other specialty materials
  • Reading and building from shop drawings and technical plans
  • Measuring, cutting, assembling, fastening, and finishing fabricated components
  • Assisting with shop setup, testing, packing, loading, installation, and dismantle
  • Coordinating with project managers, technical designers, and other shop departments
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Meeting project schedules and quality standards

Requirements

  • Experience in scenic fabrication, exhibit fabrication, custom millwork, theatrical scenery, or a related field
  • Strong carpentry and general fabrication skills
  • Ability to read drawings, take accurate measurements, and build with limited supervision
  • Experience using common woodworking and fabrication tools
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • A dependable attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
  • Ability to safely lift and handle fabrication materials
  • Experience with welding, metal fabrication, laminates, scenic finishing, rigging, automation, or Vectorworks drawings is a plus
