Overview
ECS Limited is seeking a Structural Steel Inspector to join their team, providing opportunities for professional growth in a dynamic work environment. The role involves performing field observations and inspections on various construction materials, including steel, and conducting both destructive and non-destructive testing.
Responsibilities
- Perform observations, testing, inspections, and sampling of various construction materials.
- Execute tasks based on project requirements under the guidance of senior technicians and project managers.
- Conduct routine observations and testing of structural and reinforcing steel connections.
- Perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling and test results.
- Maintain organization of field equipment and notify supervisor of any issues.
- Maintain daily communication with site contractors and project managers.
- Receive training in ECS methodology and document findings accurately.
- Mentor other technicians as they grow in their careers.
Requirements
- 3+ years of related experience.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Must maintain at least 2 specialty certifications from industry authorities.
- Ability to lift 40 - 70 lbs multiple times a day, occasionally lifting 85 lbs.
- Valid driver's license and insurance.
- Suitable transportation for job sites with mileage reimbursement.
- Strong communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of destructive and non-destructive testing principles.
- Excellent understanding of heavy construction safety practices.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Proficiency with electronic devices.
- Functional ability to read and interpret engineering and construction plans.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office.
