Overview

ECS Limited is seeking a Structural Steel Inspector to join their team, providing opportunities for professional growth in a dynamic work environment. The role involves performing field observations and inspections on various construction materials, including steel, and conducting both destructive and non-destructive testing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform observations, testing, inspections, and sampling of various construction materials.
  • Execute tasks based on project requirements under the guidance of senior technicians and project managers.
  • Conduct routine observations and testing of structural and reinforcing steel connections.
  • Perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling and test results.
  • Maintain organization of field equipment and notify supervisor of any issues.
  • Maintain daily communication with site contractors and project managers.
  • Receive training in ECS methodology and document findings accurately.
  • Mentor other technicians as they grow in their careers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of related experience.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Must maintain at least 2 specialty certifications from industry authorities.
  • Ability to lift 40 - 70 lbs multiple times a day, occasionally lifting 85 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Suitable transportation for job sites with mileage reimbursement.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Sound knowledge of destructive and non-destructive testing principles.
  • Excellent understanding of heavy construction safety practices.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Proficiency with electronic devices.
  • Functional ability to read and interpret engineering and construction plans.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office.
